Mototolo Platinum

Sustainability Report & 2026 Update

2021 project approval recap and February 2026 operating outlook.

Mototolo / Der Brochen Operational Summary

The Mototolo Complex includes the Mototolo Mine and the Der Brochen project as a consolidated operation. Infrastructure includes the Lebowa and Borwa decline shafts, a concentrator with chrome recovery capability, an associated tailings facility, and the Der Brochen life-extension project. The UG2 Reef is the primary reef mined across the complex.

Following approval of the Der Brochen feasibility study and the 2021 LoAP update, the operation was consolidated and asset life was extended. The Der Brochen project is progressing as the replacement for Lebowa infrastructure, with first ore achieved in Q3 2024, ramp-up through late 2025, and completion anticipated by H1 2027.

Geology And Structural Context

The complex lies on the Eastern Limb of the Bushveld Complex where the Merensky and UG2 Reefs strike north-south and dip westward. Geological continuity has been established to depths beyond 2,000 m in the western lease area. Structural features such as the St George fault, potholes, and dyke swarms remain important controls on planning, reserve confidence, and mining sequence.

Corporate Context

Following the Anglo American Platinum demerger and the 2025 approval of the name change to Valterra Platinum Limited, the operation continues within an independent platinum business with a long-life focus on operational resilience, disciplined capital deployment, and responsible mining performance.
